Aesno is part of the nylon 12 family (polymers with 12 carbon atoms).
Aesno® is part of the nylon 12 family (polymers with 12 carbon atoms). Nylon 12 is tougher than nylon 11, with low density, good stress crack resistance, low water absorption and good dimensional stability. Tubing can be transparent or opaque. Amorphous grades offer more translucence. Very flexible grades also are available.
We extrude Aesno for single-lumen, multi-lumen, bump and co-extruded medical tubing. See how it compares with the other grades on our nylon tubing page, or ask us which nylon suits your device.
Typical melting points for Aesno grades on our datasheet are 340°F (171°C) to 356°F (180°C).
Tensile strength at break for Aesno runs 7,000 psi (48.3 MPa) to 10,000 psi (69 MPa), with elongation at break of 250% to 390%.
Aesno has a specific gravity of 0.0365 lb./in.3 (1.01 g/cc) to 0.0372 lb./in.3 (1.03 g/cc), which corresponds to a density of about 1.01 to 1.03 g/cm³.
On our datasheet, Aesno grades measure Shore D 61 to 72.
Depending on grade, Aesno is compatible with ethylene oxide (EtO), gamma radiation and steam. Confirm the method for your specific grade with the resin supplier.
Yes. We extrude Aesno into custom medical tubing, including multi-lumen, bump and co-extruded designs. Send us your print or call 603.924.4300 for a quote.
