Besno is part of the nylon 11 family (polymers with 11 carbon atoms). It has good stress crack resistance, very low water absorption and good dimensional stability.
Besno® is part of the nylon 11 family (polymers with 11 carbon atoms). It has good stress crack resistance, very low water absorption and good dimensional stability. It is semi-flexible.
Besno® offers excellent mechanical properties over a wide temperature range. It has greater stability at high temperatures than Aesno.
We extrude Besno for single-lumen, multi-lumen, bump and co-extruded medical tubing. See how it compares with the other grades on our nylon tubing page, or ask us which nylon suits your device.
Typical melting points for Besno grades on our datasheet are 354°F (179°C) to 374°F (190°C). Its glass transition temperature is 113°F (45°C).
Tensile strength at break for Besno runs 5,000 psi (34.5 MPa) to 9,720 psi (67 MPa), with elongation at break of 225% to 360%.
Besno has a specific gravity of 0.0368 lb./in.3 (1.02 g/cc) to 0.0376 lb./in.3 (1.04 g/cc), which corresponds to a density of about 1.02 to 1.04 g/cm³.
On our datasheet, Besno grades measure Shore A 87 and Shore D 62 to 72.
Yes. We extrude Besno into custom medical tubing, including multi-lumen, bump and co-extruded designs. Send us your print or call 603.924.4300 for a quote.
